Practice changes for COVID 19

To ensure the health and safety of all patients and staff, we have introduced several changes to the way our practice runs.

Our main reception area is fitted with Perspex screens and we have hand sanitiser in the foyer to comply with infection control. We ask that you please use it before entering the practice.

We are limiting the amount of patients who enter the practice and you may be asked to wait in your car or outside until you are called. The waiting room has a small number of chairs spaced to comply with social distancing.

We have moved to phone consultations where possible to limit face to face contact. Please phone the practice to book an appointment time for the doctor to contact you, alternately you can book phone consultations online.

Please ensure your contact details are up to date.

New patients wishing to book an appointment will need to book an initial face to face consultation through reception.

Face to face consultations

We understand that not all consultations can be resolved over the phone and some patients will require a face to face consultation.

Our process for booking face to face consultations is as follows:

Reception staff will book your appointment slot and will ask you:

  • Do you have any symptoms such as fever, cough, cold, runny nose, sore throat or shortness of breath?

  • Any recent travel outside of our local area?

  • Have you had any potential contact with anyone with COVID-19?

On the day of your appointment, we ask that you remain in your car, ring reception and notify them of your arrival. The doctor or nurse will ring when they are ready for you.

Once again, you will be asked the same COVID screening questions listed above before entering the practice.

Respiratory Illness

You may fall ill with a respiratory illness and develop symptoms similar to COVID 19 during the COVID 19 pandemic.

After the screening process, the reception staff will tell you that you are unable to have a face to face consultation with your doctor, and will offer you a telephone consultation.

Your doctor will determine if you require COVID 19 swab testing and will book you in for a drive through carpark swab at our clinic, or may refer you to a Respiratory clinic for further examination.

Care Plan Clinics

Face to face over 75 health assessments are currently on hold during Stage 3 restrictions.

The care plan nurses will contact you via phone consultation if you are due for your care plan review, and will organise a follow up phone consultation with your doctor.

If your care plan is due for renewal, or you need to update your plan with your allied health practitioner such as your podiatrist, physiotherapist or osteopath, please ring reception to book a phone consultation with the care plan nurses.

Skin Clinics

Mole surveillance and skin checks are an essential health service. Our skin check clinics are still running every Wednesday and we ask if you have any spots or moles you are worried about to book in through reception.

During this time, we urge you all not to neglect your health needs. Please be assured that we are doing all the appropriate steps to keep our practice COVID 19 free.
